Compare All Clad with Demeyere
Posting date: 26th November 2010 09:01
This is a question that a customer on our sister site www.the-saucepan.co.uk, asked, but I thought it would be useful for customers looking at Demeyere cookware on www.the-frying-pan.co.uk as well.
Q - Which is the better pan range, All Clad Cookware or Demeyere Cookware?
A - Hi, I think that the general "trade" consensus is that Demeyere Cookware and All Clad cookware are on an equal footing. Both are absolutely outstanding cookware ranges, used in top class restaurants. All Clad is better known in the USA, Demeyere is better known in Europe reflecting where the brands are made, of course!
Good cookshops that sell the highest quality cookware brands, tend to sell either All Clad OR Demeyere, as there is not much point selling both. I have chosen to sell Demeyere as I prefer to rely on stock coming from Belgium rather than stock coming for USA. Delivery from Belgium is usually 2/3 weeks - containers accross the sea from USA take 3 months and are subject to weather issues in Winter and custom controls that the EU thankfully reduces substantially.
There are 3 main Demeyere cookware ranges that I sell, plus a few specialties and frying pans. John Pawson for Demeyere is the top, top design led version of the top quality chefs pans. Then Demeyere Atlantis Cookware which is just as good quality but without the top design of John Pawson. Then Demeyere Apollo Cookware is the next - still excellent quality. There are other Demeyere Cookware ranges such as Resto, but I only sell the top 3.
