Please could you tell me if Swiss Diamond induction frying pans can be used on ordinary electric rings? Last year I bought a small Swiss Diamond frying pan, have used it regularly and have found it fantastic. Now I want to buy a larger pan. However, before long I shall have to replace my cooker and might well land up with an induction hob. Obviously, I don't want to buy an ordinary SD pan and then not to be able to use it when I update. If it is possible to use an induction pan on an ordinary ring, are there any drawbacks? Please can you help. Thank you, Penny

Thankyou for your enquiry below. Yes, the Swiss Diamond induction frying pans can be used on electric rings. The only drawback is if you use a Swiss Diamond Induction Frying pan on a naked flame or gas hob. Whilst the pan will work absolutely fine, the naked flame has been known to reduce the magnetisation of the layer on the base of the pan which is needed for it to work on an induction hob. So using the pan on a gas hob first, could reduce the effectiveness of the pan at a later date, on an induction hob. However, this problem has not occured with electric rings, so does not affect you.
