Non Stick "Teflon" Surfaces Care & Use Guide
Follow these instructions and a good quality non stick pan should give you years of good use
Cheap non stick pans can be easily scratched by sharp or stainless steel tools and can chip with time. It is best to use wooden, plastic or silicone utensils.
Don't heat your non stick pan over 235 degrees centigrade.
Wash with non abrasive clothes or brushes - don't use a scourer.
You can use a dishwasher, but don't use abrasive powders. The cautious only handwash because the dishwasher will start to wear down the non stick surface
Avoid cutting serving portions from the pan - the temptation is to use a good sharp knife that will scratch the non-stick surface.
Take care to store your pans so that sharp or abrasive surfaces won't scratch their surface.
Don't store food in the pan after cooking
Remember to follow the instructions suited to the type of pan base you have, whether stainless steel, aluminium etc.
