Why Emile Henry Flame?
Emile Henry is a family run international company dating back to 1850. It still manufactures in France, in Marcigny in Burgundy, employing 200 craftsmen. Marcigny is a small town nestling between the hills of Southern Burgundy and has been home to Emile Henry for the past 150 years. Faithful to its origins, the entire production is carried out here. It now exports to more than 50 countries, producing over 6 million pieces per year
The Emile Henry Flame range is a brand new innovation combining classic French style ceramic kitchenware and high tech innovation. It is the first ceramic casserole that can be used in direct contact with a flame. I think it is a fantastic, versatile range.
Emile Henry Flame® has a unique ceramic which can be used in the oven, microwave, dishwasher or freezer. It is amazingly strong, highly resistant to thermal shocks (-20°C -> +250°C) and mechanical shocks (ie chip resistant). The hard glaze makes it possible to put any metallic utensil inside or to cut directly on the inside with a knife without scratching. This is on top of the traditional benefits of ceramic cookware, which diffuses heat slowly and evenly.
All dishes in the range can be used on stove tops, in the oven and microwave, and can also be easily cleaned in the dishwasher.
Emile Henry is certified according to the international standard ISO 9001.

Why Gastrolux?
Gastrolux are at present leading the European market in the development of fat free healthy cooking technology
It is one of the best selling ranges in Denmark and also sold in 8 other European countries... and now available in the UK
The Healthy Frying Pan!
Rather than use a traditional non stick material which includes the compound PTFE (used in Teflon for example), Gastrolux use a patented extra strong titanium/ ceramic surface called Biotan. The water forms pearls of liquid on the pan surface like water drops on a plant leaf.
This avoids the potentially carcinogenic fumes that some believe PTFE can give off at high temperatures.
2 year domestic warranty and 1 year commercial warranty
Lifetime warranty against distortion
Its healthy, fat free cooking claims are confirmed by being backed by:
- Danish Heart Foundation
- Danish Diabetic Association
- Danish Technological Institute, Food Safety Approved

All used materials have the specifications for food, conform to recommendations of the Federal Food and Drug Authorities (FDA) and Bundesgesundheitsamt (BGA). The products are equipped with the symbols "by TÜV and GS" for checked German safety standards.

They have 4 layers of non stick, beneath which is 100% ceramic base to ensure durability and scratch resistance. According to The Independent Newspaper, it is:
"Best ever range of non-stick pans"

Why Swiss Diamond?
Swiss Diamond produce pots and pans made with real diamonds! Swiss Diamond have harnessed their unique physical properties to come up with a new non-stick coating, which even scooped a Gold medal at the Geneva Inventors Fair.
Lifetime warranty
The secret behind the brilliance of Swiss Diamond is the unique physical properties of diamonds that provide the non-stick cooking surface with dazzling benefits not found in any other cookware. Not only are diamonds the hardest natural substance but they also possess the highest thermal conductivity, four times that of copper. Numerous other special properties have seen diamond used in industrial, medical and scientific applications. Now Swiss Diamond have found a way to take advantage of this impressive material in non-stick coating.
The non-stick surface is far more cut, chip and abrasion resistant than anything else out there. The secret is combining industrial diamond crystals with a non-stick composite to create a virtually indestructible cooking surface.
This composite gets fused to the pan, rather then layered on, as with most other non-stick surfaces. Swiss Diamond invented this technology and is the only one in existence who uses it.
But it is not just the non-stick coating which makes these pans so special.
- The reinforced pan edges offer a high level of shock resistance.
- The comfortable stay-cool handles are engineered for good balance, have finger and thumb grips and are heat resistant in the oven up to 450°F.
- Cast brass threaded inserts ensure the handles are firmly attached.
- The interior pan colour is a steel grey rather than the more traditional black, which allows better visibility of what's going on in the pan such as when caramelising pan juices.
Swiss Diamond non stick has no harmful compounds. Swiss Diamond has a nano-composite extra thick layer of traditional PTFE non-stick (as used by Teflon) AND diamond crystals which they claim is 25% better than titanium at giving a lifetime of smooth non-stick surface. The quantity of PTFE used is small compared to other non stick pans and Swiss Diamond confirm that the harmful PFOA component in the PTFE is NOT present in the pans. This has been confirmed by the Danish Technology Institute.
